SSMD Extended Warranty and Preventative Maintenance

The Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, acting on behalf of the Department of the Navy, issued this special notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Data Security, Inc. for extended warranty and preventative maintenance services. The procurement supports the Solid-State Media Disintegrator (SSMD) equipment currently utilized by the CISD. These services are intended to extend the service life of existing government-owned equipment manufactured by Data Security, Inc. The government has determined that only one source is reasonably available under restrictive rights in accordance with FAR 12.102(a).

The scope of work is classified under NAICS 811210, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, and PSC J075, MAINT/REPAIR/REBUILD OF EQUIPMENT- OFFICE SUPPLIES AND DEVICES. There is no set-aside assigned to this requirement. Performance will take place in Albany, Georgia. One attachment, a sole source justification regarding data security, was included with the notice published on June 11, 2026.

Responses to this notice are due by June 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDST. While this is not a request for competitive quotes, interested firms may submit information demonstrating their ability to satisfy the requirement to the primary point of contact, Emily Tsan. Information received will be used to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, a decision that remains at the sole discretion of the government.
