NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: TSI Incorporated Quest Edge 8M Noise Dosimeters (Part Number: TSI 5EG8M-BT-D) and Microphones (Part Number: MIC-EG8)

The United States Department of Labor (DOL), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Mine Safety and Health Enforcement, intends to issue a sole source contract to TSI Incorporated for the procurement of specialized noise monitoring equipment. This requirement is for TSI Incorporated Quest Edge 8M Noise Dosimeters (Part Number: TSI 5EG8M-BT-D) and Microphones (Part Number: MIC-EG8). These specific models were developed by TSI Incorporated for MSHA and are currently the only products approved by the agency as intrinsically safe for use in underground coal mines.

The procurement is identified under solicitation number Dosimeters and is classified under NAICS 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, and PSC 6635, PHYSICAL PROPERTIES TESTING AND INSPECTION. Although this notice is published for informational purposes regarding the intent to sole source, the government will consider capability statements from responsible parties that demonstrate a bona fide ability to provide the required products. All documentation must be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government.

Capability statements must be submitted via email to Ryan Proietto and Alicia M. Jackson by the response deadline of June 15, 2026, at 5:00 pm ET. Submissions must provide clear and concise documentation supporting the offeror’s capability to fulfill the requirement. The final determination of whether to compete the contract based on received responses remains at the sole discretion of the government.
