Small Business Event - “Live Chat with HUD’s OSDBU” Webinar Series: Maximizing Growth Through Opportunity Zones and HUBZone Programs

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) and the Office of Field Policy and Management, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, is hosting a webinar titled "Live Chat with HUD’s OSDBU." Scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET via MS Teams, this outreach event focuses on maximizing growth through Opportunity Zones (OZ) and HUBZone programs. The session provides information on the OZ tax incentive, including the existing OZ 1.0 program and the new OZ 2.0 permanent tax program. Participants will learn how Qualified Opportunity Funds (QOF) are utilized for business start-ups and expansions, and how HUD and SBA grants can complement these funds. The presentation also explores the overlay of OZ designations and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) areas to assist small businesses in leveraging available incentives and benefits.

This outreach event is managed by HUD’s OSDBU in Washington, DC. It is intended to help small businesses, particularly those with HUBZone certifications, understand how to utilize eligible census tracts for nomination and community growth.
