Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Water Twister (WT) Mod-2 Inboard Spherical Thrust Bearings

The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Lakehurst, NJ issued pre-solicitation notice N68335-26-R-0501 for the procurement of five Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Water Twister (WT) Mod-2 Inboard Spherical Thrust Bearings, part number 3890AS004918-01. This acquisition supports the Aircraft Launch Recover Equipment Program and is classified under NAICS 332991 for Ball and Roller Bearing Manufacturing and PSC 3110 for BEARINGS, ANTIFRICTION, UNMOUNTED. Performance will take place in the United States, and the government has established a response deadline of May 29, 2026.

The government intends to negotiate this requirement on a non-competitive basis with The Timken Company in Union, South Carolina, under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. The Timken Company is the only approved original equipment manufacturer for the specified applications of this Critical Safety Item and the associated source-controlled drawing. Because this requirement utilizes a vendor item control drawing rather than a build-to-print drawing, The Timken Corporation is the sole vendor possessing the necessary source data to manufacture bearings that meet all technical requirements.

While this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, the government will consider all responses received within fifteen days of the May 14, 2026, publication date.
