Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract for Public Transportation Fare Media and Benefits Program Procurement Office: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Headquarters Procurement Operations Division (3803R) Response Date: October 5, 2013 The U.S. EPA in Washington, DC has a requirement for implementing a public transportation fare media program at the headquarters building located in Washington, DC. EPA intends to negotiate a sole-source follow-on procurement with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Federal Government Agency participation in specific transit benefit programs is authorized by Public Law 10-172 and Executive Order 13150 entitled "Federal Workforce Transportation". WMATA provides public transportation fare media which is accepted by virtually all public transportation providers in the Washington DC metro area, including Metro Rail, Metro Bus, ART-Arlington Transit, CUE-Fairfax City, DASH-Alexandria Transit Company, DC Circulator, Fairfax Connector, Loudon Commuter Bus Service, PRTC-Service Prince William County, and Manassas. WMATA issues metro transit benefits which may be purchased directly from WMATA and subsequently exchanged for transportation services from parti cipating providers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 485111-Mixed Mode Transit Systems.
