Microbiology of FDA Regulated Foods, Agricultural Water, and Cosmetics

The Food and Drug Administration is seeking to establish an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract under solicitation number FDA-22-SOL-1240447. The objective of this requirement is to obtain baseline survey data for FDA-regulated foods, agricultural water, cosmetics products, and environmental samples. This procurement is categorized under NAICS 541380 for Testing Laboratories and Services and PSC H173 for QUALITY CONTROL- FOOD PREPARATION AND SERVING EQUIPMENT. Performance is located in Silver Spring, Maryland, and the deadline for responses is March 7, 2022.

The selected contractor will analyze products and samples for the presence and specific levels of pathogens including, but not limited to, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, E. coli O157:H7, non-O157:H7 STECs, Shigella spp., Campylobacter spp., Vibrio spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Cronobacter spp., COVID-19, Norovirus, hepatitis A, Cyclospora, and Cryptosporidium. Additional technical requirements include conducting whole genome sequencing (WGS) of food and environmental isolates or other microorganisms of interest and submitting that WGS data to the NCBI database.
