The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA), on behalf of the Operational Medicine (OPMED) Project Management Office (PMO) and the Medical Prototype Development Laboratory (MPDL), is conducting market research to identify capable sources for an upgrade to an existing OMAX Waterjet System. The requirement involves upgrading the 5555/30V system, originally purchased in 2011, to a 55100/30V configuration. Necessary components include a 126" x 65" abrasive jet table, a variable speed solids removal system, a laminar settling system, and a 64-bit computer controller upgrade kit. The project also entails a programmable motorized Z-axis, rapid water level control, a bulk abrasive delivery system, onsite assembly, factory technician verification, and a five-day training program.
All components must be brand-name OMAX parts to ensure compatibility with the government’s current OMAX EnduroMax Pump Waterjet System and Water Chiller subassemblies. If no other capable sources are identified, DHACA intends to execute a firm-fixed-price sole source task order to Phillips Corporation Federal Division. This opportunity is classified under NAICS 333517 Machine Tool Manufacturing and PSC 3419 MISCELLANEOUS MACHINE TOOLS. There is currently no set-aside assigned to this notice.
Performance will take place in Maryland. Interested sources must submit a capability statement and pricing information, not exceeding three pages, by June 5, 2026. Submissions must demonstrate the ability to meet the technical requirements and specify if the provider is a federal supply contract holder. Information gathered under solicitation number HT9427-26-Sources-Sought-OMAX-Water-Jet will be used to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement or a sole source award. Katherine Ramsburg serves as the primary point of contact for this requirement.
