View moreThe Office of Mission Acquisition Solutions (OMAS), Office of Acquisition (OA), on behalf of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition (including brand-name) to Bruker Biospin Corporation; 15 Fortune Drive; Billerica, MA 01821, for maintenance services for the multiphoton microscope system.
This acquisition is conducted as non-competitive for a commercial product or commercial service and is conducted pursuant to FAR 12.201-1, Simplified Procedures in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901.
Bruker Biospin Corporation (Brucker) provides routine maintenance on 700 MHz NMR Instrument. Bruker is the only authorized company that can provide service to the manufacturer’s specification while providing OEM parts. Bruker does not offer any 3rd party resellers to provide maintenance for their equipment.

The Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (LBMB) carries out basic research into the mechanisms underlying cell growth, division, differentiation and homeostasis with a focus on the biology of chromosomes and the cell nucleus. LBMB fosters an interdisciplinary approach in which the methods of biophysics, biochemistry, genetics and cell biology are used in an interactive and collaborative research environment to solve problems of fundamental importance. The NMR instrument is a critical piece of laboratory equipment that is central to several key studies on protein and chromatin structure. We are seeking a new contract to continue the service coverage of this instrument.
The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire preventive maintenance services for a government owned 700 MHz NMR instrument. The instrument is essential for research at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. It is used to study the structures of chromatin and proteins related to cancer.
(iii)The Government anticipates award of a firm fixed-price purchase order for this acquisition, and the anticipated period of performance is: May 22, 2026 through May 21, 2031.
