NexSens Buoy-Based Lake Water Temperature Profile Systems

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, issued this special notice of intent to award a firm fixed-price, sole source contract to Fondriest Environmental for the maintenance of existing NexSens buoy-based lake water temperature profile systems. The scope of work involves servicing systems located at 12 District reservoirs, including Allegheny Reservoir, East Branch Clarion River Lake, Tionesta Lake, Woodcock Creek Lake, Mahoning Creek Lake, Shenango Lake, Loyalhanna Lake, Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir, Berlin Lake, Youghiogheny River Lake, Tygart Lake, and Stonewall Jackson Lake. These specialized systems consist of floating buoy platforms, datalogging and telemetry systems, waterproof marine enclosures, and strings of temperature thermistors.

The performance period for these services includes a base year and three option years beginning from the date of award. This requirement is classified under NAICS 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, and PSC 6655, Geophysical Instruments. While this is not a request for proposal, interested parties capable of meeting the requirement may submit a detailed capability statement to the point of contact, Janie L. Performance will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, under solicitation number W911WN20R3001. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), as the agency intends to contract exclusively with Fondriest Environmental for the required technical maintenance.
