Intent to Award - Other than Full and Open Competition

The United States Mission in Nigeria intends to award a noncompetitive contract extension to the incumbent contractor for Group Medical Coverage (GMC) Health Insurance Services. Issued by the Department of State’s U.S. Embassy Abuja, this action extends performance under Contract No. 19N10221D0001 for a period not to exceed six months. The extension is executed in accordance with FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, and follows the approval of a Justification and Approval for other than full and open competition.

The purpose of this requirement is to ensure the continuity of mission-critical health insurance services in Abuja, Nigeria, while the government completes a competitive follow-on acquisition. The government has determined that only the incumbent provider can maintain these services without unacceptable operational disruptions during the transition period.
