The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) intends to award a firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract to the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for annual accreditation maintenance services. These services support seven engineering and applied science programs at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. ABET is identified as the only recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. Because the accreditation process is specialized and proprietary, and has been in place for AFIT programs since 1963, the government has determined that no other organization is authorized to perform these specific requirements.
This acquisition is classified under NAICS code 611310 for Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools and PSC R420 for Support- Professional: Certifications and Accreditations (Other than Educ or Info Tech C&A). The solicitation, identified as FA860126Q0054, was published on May 18, 2026, and updated on May 20, 2026, to include a Performance Work Statement (PWS) supplement. Other associated documentation includes the primary PWS and a redacted Sole Source Justification.
Interested parties that believe they can satisfy the requirements must submit a capability statement providing clear and convincing evidence of their ability to perform the services by the response deadline of June 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM EST. All submissions and inquiries are directed to the contract specialist, Brian Algeo, and the contracting officer, Candice Snow. While the government will consider capability statements, this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, and the decision to proceed with a non-competitive award remains at the discretion of the government.
