Cancellation of DOIFFBO230095 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Special Agent in Charge, Fort Snelling, MN hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, Blanket Purchase Agreement, Requirements Contract to Omaha Zoological Society dba Henry Doorly Zoo located at 3701 S. 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68107. This requirement is for services under NAICS code 712130 Zoos and Botanical Gardens for which the agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The Requirements contract period is for a Base Period plus Four Option Years with a cumulative five (5) year maximum ceiling cost estimated at $250,000. This requirement is to secure reliable, quality, humane care and quarantine of various medium-large venomous and non-venomous live reptiles and amphibians under the care of USFWS. Work includes daily monitoring, feeding, enrichment services, medical treatments if necessary, and reporting on health assessments and overall condition of animals accepted at the facility. The Henry Doorly Zoo is centrally located to Indianola, IA and is uniquely qualified to quarantine, house and properly care for medium-large live reptiles and amphibians, including venomous animals. Employees of the Zoo are educated and trained to care for live reptiles and amphibians and their expertise will ensure the well-being and increase the survival rates of the animals. This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Responses received from this solicitation will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the agency not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the agency. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government and would not be cost or time prohibitive.
