Broadcast Herbicide

The Allegheny National Forest requires ground-based, high-volume herbicide application services to manage understory vegetation in the Bradford and Marienville Ranger Districts. This single-award, firm-fixed-price Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract has a $3.5 million ceiling and a five-year ordering period. Work involves applying herbicides like glyphosate and sulfometuron methyl according to strict environmental buffers and application rates. The contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment, and materials, and personnel must hold valid Pennsylvania Category 05 licenses. Proposals are due June 26, 2026, and must include a technical narrative, equipment list, and experience questionnaire. Performance is measured by treated acreage and chemical volume, with the first ordering period starting July 13, 2026. Proposals must include a five-page technical narrative, equipment list, and resumes for the Project Supervisor and Licensed Applicator. A completed Experience Questionnaire and a Schedule of Items with pricing for six line items are also required. Work occurs annually between July and September. The contractor provides all labor, equipment, and chemicals. Treatment units range from 3 to 100 acres and often contain logging slash. Access is via forest roads, and any damage to road closure mounds must be repaired.
