Japan-wide Chartered Bus Services 2.0
The 374th Contracting Squadron (374 CONS) at Yokota Air Base is seeking quotations for chartered bus services across Japan. This solicitation, issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under FA520926Q0021, follows FAR Part 12 procedures for commercial services. The Air Force intends to award a single Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a five-year ordering period and a $9,000,000 ceiling. The contractor will coordinate transportation for service members and authorized U.S. Government personnel throughout Honshu and Okinawa. While the contractor does not need to own the vehicles, they must maintain a nationwide network of licensed Japanese bus operators and hold a valid Type 1 Travel Agency registration from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Services include transporting personnel with baggage and, in some cases, government-issued weapons under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). Quotations are due by June 8, 2026, and the government may award the contract based on initial submissions without further discussions. This solicitation requires a valid 'Type 1 Travel Agency' registration from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), held in the quoter's legal name. The contract is a five-year IDIQ with a $9,000,000 ceiling and a $2,500 minimum guarantee. The contractor will coordinate charter bus services for U.S. Government personnel, including service members and civilians, across Honshu and Okinawa. This includes managing transportation for passengers with baggage and authorized weapons.
