THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specification, or drawing available at this time. Military Sealift Command Norfolk, VA is seeking to establish a Blanket Purchase agreement (BPA) with eligible small businesses capable of providing a wide array of commercial material including but not limited to hull mechanical and electrical/electronic (HM&E) items, habitability items, and general supply items that support the operation, maintenance and upkeep of Military Sealift Command assets. These items include but are not limited to those items not covered under a Justification and Authorization (J&A) or otherwise determined to be constrained by limited or sole source requirements. All small businesses are encouraged to respond. The Government will determine whether a small business set-aside acquisition in lieu of full and open competition is in the Governments best interest. This office anticipates execution of a BPA no later than 15 January 2013. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR PROPOSAL. This is a market research tool used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. It is requested that interested businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities package demonstrating ability to provide the requested items. This document shall address, as a minimum the following: (1) Company Profile to include number of employees, office location(s), DUNS number, CAGE Code, NAICS covered, and a statement regarding small business designation and status; (2) A capabilities statement identifying the types of supplies the company can provide that support maintenance, repair, and upkeep of MSC afloat assets. Submission of a capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Government in tailoring requirements to be consistent with industry.
