VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Dako North America, Inc., 6392 Via Real, Carpinteria, CA 93013-2921, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-24. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is to obtain the Dako Artisan Stainer System, reagents and consumable supplies for the Department of Veterans Affairs Loma Linda Healthcare System, 11201 Benton Street, Loma Linda, CA 92357. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed price contract for one (1) base year, with four (4), one (1) year options. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability. All inquiries received by the Government by 3:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, May 14, 2008, may be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Inquiries will only be accepted in writing by mail.
