The Rapid IV contract serves as a rapid and flexible means for the Government to acquire spacecraft and related components, equipment, and services in support of the science and technology missions of the National Aeronauctics and Space Administration (NASA). Under the contract, Rapid IV Contractors offer spacecraft and related services to be purchased via Government placed Delivery Orders (DO). The spacecraft designs, related items and services may be tailored, as needed, to meet the unique needs of each mission. Specific mission requirements will be defined in the DO issues for each mission. The Rapid Spacecraft Development Office (RSDO) Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition (RAPID IV) is a multiple award, IDIQ, Fixed Price type contract, for satellite bus core systems with any necessary modifications to meet specific Mission needs. The scope of the work includes design and development of the spacecraft (i.e., Cubesats to Geosats), integration of Government provided scientific instruments, spacecraft/observatory integration and test, shipment of observatory to launch site, observatory launch support, on-orbit checkout of observatory, and on-orbit operations as required. The range of possible NASA missions is broad in scope, type, and size.
