B&F - ALD - Recondition Water Tanks - 26Z1AQ6
The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a contractor to recondition two water tanks at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Alderson in West Virginia. This project involves a 46-foot-6-inch diameter ground tank and a 199-foot tall elevated tank. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials for comprehensive technical services, including pressure washing, abrasive blasting to SSPC standards, and applying NSF/ANSI 61-certified interior coatings. Because the work is at a correctional facility, the elevated tank cannot be out of service for more than 72 hours at a time. The government will award a firm-fixed-price contract based on technical acceptability, past performance, and price. Required documentation includes the SF-1449 solicitation, a detailed Statement of Work, and mandatory security forms for personnel background checks. This project involves surface preparation and coating for two water tanks at a federal prison. The ground tank is 46’6” in diameter and 32’ tall, while the elevated tank is 199’ tall. Security is a major factor, requiring background checks and tool controls. The elevated tank has a critical 72-hour downtime limit. Recondition two potable water storage tanks at FPC Alderson: one 100,000-gallon elevated tank and one 400,000-gallon ground tank.
