IGF::OT::IGF ANALYSIS OF THE SINGLE-AISLE TURBOELECTRIC AIRCRAFT WITH AFT BOUNDARY LAYER PROPULSION (STARC-ABL) ADVANCED CONCEPT THE INTENT OF THIS STUDY IS TO PERFORM AN INDEPENDENT ANALYSIS OF THE STARC-ABL CONCEPT, AN ADVANCED LOW-WING TURBOELECTRIC COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT. THE STARC-ABL CONCEPT WAS INITIALLY DESCRIBED IN AIAA-2016-1027, AND FURTHER RESEARCH HAS IDENTIFIED SIMILAR SYSTEM LEVEL TRENDS WITH MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED DESIGN, SUCH AS A MACH 0.785 CRUISE SPEED. DUE TO THE SHORT DURATION OF THIS TASK, THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF ADVANCING THE CONCEPT MATURITY BEYOND THE CONCEPTUAL LEVEL AS DESCRIBED IN AIAA-2016-1027. INSTEAD, THE GOAL IS TO EITHER GAIN CONFIDENCE IN THE CONCEPTUAL LEVEL SYSTEM TRENDS OF THE STARC-ABL CONCEPT OR IDENTIFY DISCREPANCIES THAT WARRANT POTENTIAL FURTHER STUDY. THE BLOCK FUEL WEIGHT FOR THE DESIGN AND ECONOMIC MISSIONS IS THE METRIC OF INTEREST.
